Terje

Terje is a remarkable five screen cinematic performance based on Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's epic poem Terje Vigen. The performance premiered in 1994 on a lighthouse in Southern Norway and was also mounted on the outer walls of the National Theatre in Oslo in the same year. In 2006 and new HD version was mounted outdoors in Japan, on Shinko Pier, a tug-boat harbor in Yokohama, using the first ever Japanese translation of the original poem.

Several new language versions featuring well-known actors and new visual material are being produced for a tour next summer. Vanessa Redgrave will read the English version and Jean Rochefort the French. The 2008 version of the programme consists of two parts, the first is entirely based on Terje Vigen. the second part reaches out across both Western and Eastern worlds of poetry, as symbolic imagery, intense music and movements from dancers act as a backdrop for the narrated words. the programme will be available in Arabic, English, French, Hebrew, Norwegian and Urdu.

Met Film Creative have been enlisted to assist production and complete post-production of the new visual content for the 2008 touring programme. Met Film Creative MD Russell Stopford is executive producing the project which is produced by Arts Alliance Productions, the Oslo-based production branch of London's Arts Alliance Media.
